There’s been a bit of a discussion going on among some Dreamspinner authors lately about people who find ways to read our stuff for free, either by downloading it from P2P filesharing sites or by visiting mainstream sites that make a significant portion of the books available online prior to purchase. To be honest, neither of these phenomena have ever bothered me as much as they seem to bother others, and I’ve been pondering why that is. Because I suffer from chronic can’t-shut-up-itis, I thought I’d go ahead and articulate where I am on all this.

It's December 1, which means Naughty or Nice, the 2010 Dreamspinner Advent Calendar, is now available! There are 31 stories, which you can buy individually or all at once. So as I mentioned before, my story “The First” is going to be included in Naughty or Nice, Dreamspinner Press’s 2010 Advent Calendar. This is a collection of 31 holiday-themed stories, one for every day in December, ranging from 5,000 to 18,000 words each. I promised to post more information when it became available, and it has! Here’s the blurb for my story:

Two weeks earlier, a stormy breakup caused by Jimmy’s fears and Adam’s frustrations split them apart, never mind that Adam had stolen Jimmy’s heart. But Jimmy is unable to turn off his feelings—despite his protests to the contrary—and when Adam’s meddling older sister throws them together again on New Year’s Eve, the new year will begin with either a reconciliation or a final parting of ways.
